Classic Songs with Movement
Combining music with movement helps preschoolers learn how to follow direction, increases their vocabulary, helps them interact with others, and improves their motor control, balance and coordination.
Here are the lyrics to just a couple of classics to get you on your way.
Head and Shoulder
Head and shoulders
Knees and toes, knees and toes
Head and shoulders
Knees and toes
Eyes, ears, mouth and nose (Point to body parts as your sing)
Note: we like to add additional verses, such as:
Noses, elbows
Waist and feet, waist and feet
Noses, elbows
Waist and feet
Biceps, triceps, stamp your feet
The Wheels on the Bus
The wheels on the bus go round and round
Round and round, round and round
The wheels on the bus go round and round
All through the town
Repeat with:
The doors on the bus go open and close
The money on the bus goes clink, clink, clink
The driver on the bus says move on back
The horn on the bus goes beep, beep, beep
The wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish
The windows on the bus go up and down
The people on the bus go bump, bump, bump
The babies on the bus go waa, waa, waa
The mommies (daddies, grannies, etc) go "shh, I love you"
End with a final verse of the "wheels on the bus go round and round".
